Summer and the pack of memories

For me, summer is more than a season...it is a feeling. Just the thought of summer invites a bunch of memories that involve endless hours of playing with friends, forgetting to come back home as most of the time is spent outside, eating seasonal fruits like mangoes and berries, and not worrying about homework. Summer is a feeling where all the worries melt. Many of us might associate summer with ice-cream trucks, fruit picking, hiking, road trips, and beach days. Through these associations, we realize that summer gives us so many opportunities to explore, enjoy and just let go. After the dark months of winter, summer gives us new vigor and inspiration to get out of our comfort zones. The nurturing sunlight allows us to soak in the energy which we hope to sustain us through winter. Most importantly, it inspires us to be a child again where fears and anxiety just vanish in the sunlight. To me, the sunlight is something that absorbs the negative self-talk and replaces it with hope-a hope to try something new.

Summer is a season to execute the plans we made in the winter. Maybe it is a DIY gardening project, learning how to drive, or going on a challenging hike. Whatever your dreams are, this is the season to make it happen or at least try to make it happen. Carpe Diem! Let the nurturing sunlight bring you closer to your dreams. But do not forget to be a child again and engage in a favorite childhood activity. Or better visit someone from your childhood whom you haven’t seen in a while.

Through this blog, I hope I have invited a child in you to enjoy this season of fun and excitement.
